Rental and Service

Every violin comes ready to play with all accessories and necessities included. All violins are insured by default against minor wear and tear. This is already included in the previously described prices.

Details about the rental conditions

To choose the right size violin, you must measure from the middle of your left palm to your neck. Extend your left arm and hand fully perpendicular to the body (to the side).

If you are choosing a violin for a growing child and are hesitating between two sizes, it is best to choose the larger one to avoid having to upgrade to a larger size too quickly. Of course, I can also personally help with choosing a size.

In a world full of mass production, I choose violins with a soul. The collection consists of second-hand violins that mostly originate from the Czech Republic, a region with a rich history in instrument making. These older instruments often have a warmer, fuller sound than new factory models. The violins are repaired locally in Arnhem. This way you get an instrument with character that is technically in good condition.

Rental Conditions

De Zuivere Noot and the Renter declare to have entered into an agreement regarding the rental of a string instrument and accessories described as indicated on the website of De Zuivere Noot, hereafter referred to as 'Instrument', including bow, case/cover, shoulder rest/endpin rest, and rosin, to which the following general terms and conditions apply.

The rental period will start after the Renter's identity has been established and payment of the first rental term and deposit have been received. The minimum rental period is three (3) months;
De Zuivere Noot reserves the right to charge an appropriate deposit for the Instrument, even if this deviates from what is stated on the website. De Zuivere Noot returns the deposit after the instrument is handed in, provided that no defects are found upon inspection by De Zuivere Noot;
At least two (2) weeks before the rental period expires, the Renter will receive an invoice for the new rental period of at least three (3) months. If the Renter wishes to continue renting the instrument, the relevant rental term must be paid no later than two (2) weeks after receipt of the invoice, stating the invoice number;
Cancellations must be made at least one (1) month in advance.
The rental price also includes insurance for wear and tear and maintenance as offered by De Zuivere Noot. Replacement of worn (but not broken) strings and scratches (surface damage) are covered. Replacement of parts other than those mentioned above, or other damage, are entirely at the Renter's expense;
The Renter must keep the rented Instrument in good condition. In the unlikely event of damage, the Renter must immediately report this to De Zuivere Noot;
Upon termination of the agreement, the Renter must ensure that the Instrument is received by De Zuivere Noot no later than the last day of the rental period, unless agreed otherwise in writing with De Zuivere Noot. Any shipping costs are at the Renter's expense. If, upon termination of the rental agreement, the Instrument is not received by De Zuivere Noot in time, De Zuivere Noot reserves the right to invoice the Renter per month for the months in which the Instrument is not in the possession of De Zuivere Noot. If an instrument is returned before the end of a rental period, there will be no refund for the remaining days of the rental period, unless agreed otherwise in writing between the Renter and De Zuivere Noot;
After receipt of the Instrument by De Zuivere Noot, the Renter will receive confirmation by e-mail or telephone that the Instrument has been received and the rental agreement has been terminated;
De Zuivere Noot is not liable for damage suffered by the Renter or third parties in connection with the use or storage of the Instrument;
The Renter rents the Instrument for their own use and shall not sublet it;
The Renter is obliged to inform De Zuivere Noot if there are any applicable changes to the Renter's address, telephone number, or e-mail address.
